Super Tuesday Preview

Posted: Updated:

You're Mitt Romney and no one would be surprised if you feel like you're living the movie Groundhog Day because, once again, you're facing another most-important-primary-of-your life.

You had to win New Hampshire, Florida, and Michigan...and you did.

And now you have to win Ohio tomorrow:

“We've got good people running for office, but you know these other guys have spent their life in government. Nothing wrong with that, it's just that right now with the economy in distress, with jobs so badly needed, with incomes having gone down, we need a president who knows the economy to fix the economy,” said the former Massachusetts Governor.

But you've tried before to make the economy the focus of the campaign...and failed.

Rick Santorum has snared you with social issues in several states, and he'll be back tomorrow looking for more. The former Pennsylvania Senator said, "I think that's gonna be a good Super Tuesday for us."

And don't forget Newt Gingrich. He's going for the gold in Georgia tomorrow and doesn't sound like he's going away:

“I keep coming back. I've twice been the front runner in the national polls…I think we’re coming back again,” said the former Speaker of the House.

For Romney, it's already back-- the sense of urgency to end a long, divisive primary campaign, knowing his rivals want it to go on and on:

"This is a marathon, not a sprint. We're going to keep working, and we feel like this race is narrowing just like it should have been,” Santorum said.

Narrowing is not what Romney needs...closing is. For months, Romney has seemed just a day or two away from sealing the deal with enough Republicans to shut down the race that's damaging the GOP.

And now he's there again.

What will the groundhog say?
