Bruins practice Friday, prepare for Game 5

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Missed opportunities and defensive mistakes are too much to overcome in a game, and the Bruins are looking to clean up their effort in Game 5.

“Just limit the turnovers. Obviously we had a lot. But we did a lot of good things as well. We have to continue to do that,” said Bruins defenseman, Johnny Boychuck.

Goaltender Tuukka Rask had one of his worst games of the playoffs this past Wednesday and he agreed.

“Yeah, those were just mental mistakes, mostly. It’s nothing crazy we have to fix. Just be mentally sharper and alert and try to clean the bodies in front of the net, and be better at that,” he said.

Rask was so locked in at practice on Friday, he didn’t even catch a potential lineup change, with Swedish import Carol Soderberg, skating on the fourth line.

“Oh was he? I didn’t notice…I was sleeping throughout the practice. I didn’t realize that, but good for him if he gets the chance, he’s a good player,” said Rask.

Game 5 gives the Bruins the chance to take back momentum of the Cup finals, but if you think they need extra motivation, think again.

“The focus has to be, you got to put everything on the line. Because there’s nothing left after a potential three games,” said Bruins forward, Milan Lucic.

Bruins head coach Claude Julien agreed.

“I don’t think you have to say much. If they don’t know what’s at stake by now, they’re in trouble. So they know what they have to do. We’ve all been through it before, and so we’re just looking forward to bouncing back and having a solid game,” said Julien.

Game 5 will take place at the United Center in Chicago on Saturday night. Puck drop will be at eight o’clock.
