BOSTON (WHDH) — Patrice Bergeron left the hospital and began focusing on the off season – but he also has a career deal on his mind.
The Bruins’ star forward had an amazing postseason – scoring nine goals and six assists.
That all came to a halt with an injured lung in the Stanley Cup final games – though he played on.
Bergeron hopes he can get that big contract from the team that drafted him when he was only 18-years-old.
"It’s my home. I feel like it is. I love the city, I love the people, and I definitely love the organization. It would mean a lot to me and hopefully we can work something out,” said Bergeron.
Bergeron also said he is very confident both sides will agree on a deal – but he does not know how long it will take to get done.
