BOSTON (WHDH) — Tyler Seguin came onto the scene as an 18-year-old phenomenon. But now, just three years later, Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli is shipping him out to Dallas.

“I told him, I said, ‘Tyler you’re 21, you have a real good career ahead of you. This doesn’t mean that we don’t like you, I like you as a kid. These are business decisions and they have to happen fast’,” said Chiarelli.

And his former teammates agreed.

“You know, he’s a terrific player, a terrific person and it’s just, you know, sometimes you have to have some lows to get back up and feel better and play again,” said Bruins forward, Patrice Bergeron.

The Dallas Stars certainly hope that’s the case. But the Bruins are acquiring some star power of their own. In exchange for Seguin, they get forward Loui Erickson.

“He spreads out your power play. He’s a fast and a good two-way player. There’s a lot of his game that fits into how we play,” said Chiarelli.
