BURLINGTON, Mass. (WHDH) — Employees at Café Escadrille in Burlington donated all of their tips Thursday to Boston Marathon bombing victim Jeff Bauman and his family.

Bauman lost both legs in the bombing. His mother has worked at the restaurant for nearly a decade.

Co-workers say they wanted to do something to help their friend.

“It was a group effort, we all came together, we all agreed, all organized, wanted to do whatever we could to help Patti and her son,” said Kerri Panagiotakos, a restaurant employee.

“I feel great about what’s going on here today. Not the unfortunate circumstances that led to it obviously. But I’m glad that we all got together to do to this for our friend,” said Ryan Blodgett, a restaurant employee.

The restaurant told 7News the event was still going on at 10 p.m. Thursday.
