WALTHAM, Mass. (WHDH) — A Waltham police officer who has been off the force since being arrested on child porn charges is now accused of going back online.

Manganelli, a veteran of the Waltham Police Department, was arrested in March for possessing and sharing child porn. He was prohibited from using the Internet, but prosecutors said he was going on Facebook — a clear violation of his probation.

Manganelli was arrested again last Friday and placed into custody of the U.S. Marshals.

Court documents state Paul Manganelli discussed, through email, his sexual interest in girls between the ages of seven and 11 and his desire to have sex with them.

New details are also coming out on the case against him. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office the prosecutor told the court Manganelli allegedly solicited advice from child molesters online about how to groom a victim and he sent them clothed photographs of a child to whom he had access.

Manganelli had been living at his home he bought with lottery winnings, which pays him $100,000 a year. He is currently in custody while a judge considers the terms of his release.
