Crimson win again at 148th Harvard-Yale Regatta

Posted: Updated:

NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) -- The nation's oldest intercollegiate sports event is still being dominated by Harvard.

The Crimson easily won the 148th Harvard-Yale Regatta on Sunday, completing the 4-mile, upstream race on the Thames River in 21:17.6. Yale finished with a time of 21:41.3.

Harvard is 94-54 in the event and has won 13 of the last 14 matchups. The win also completes a strong season for the Crimson, who won the Eastern Sprints championships last month and finished second to Washington at the International Rowing Association national championships May 31.

Harvard swept all three races for the sixth straight year. Yale last won the Harvard-Yale Regatta in 2007.

Harry Parker, in his 51st season as Harvard's head coach, is now 44-7 in the rivalry.
