The Sterling Town Clerk released a copy of 5-year-old Jeremiah Oliver’s death certificate on Wednesday.
The cause of death is still pending and the investigation is still ongoing.
The death certificate was filed late Tuesday afternoon in Sterling because Oliver’s body was found on the side of Route 190 packed in a suitcase near the town.
Jeremiah Oliver was reported missing in December, but hadn’t been seen since September. His mother, Elsa Oliver, and her boyfriend Alberto Sierra are in custody on charges connected to the case.
Oliver’s funeral is scheduled for Saturday.
