The forecast calls for some sun, clouds, showers, wind and seasonal temps! Ha!...see?...how can I miss with that?!?! The weather will really go through all those elements though as we have a potent little weather system that will wobble through here today. High temps as of 4PM show low to mid 70s for most, and even upper 70s in Southern New Hampshire! High temps as of 4PM show low to mid 70s for most, and even upper 70s in Southern New Hampshire!
Another comfortable April day is in the books as highs across the area topped the 70 degree mark in many towns. Sure, the breeze was a bit active and the clouds battled the sun for sky turf, but overall, that breeze and those clouds are a lot easier to handle when highs run a good 15 degrees above the average. I hope you were able to enjoy the mild weather the last couple of days, because we certainly have so changes ahead. [more]

    Another Serving of Sunshine

    Sunday, April 20 2014 6:05 PM EDT2014-04-20 22:05:21 GMT
Sunshine prevailed on this Easter Sunday with cooler temps as well. Thanks to an onshore breeze, the coastal communities chilled out near or just below 50, while inland towns warmed into the mid to upper 50s. With light winds, it was overall an enjoyable Easter Sunday to take a late afternoon stroll and try to walk of all that ham and dessert you ate. We cool to near freezing or just below tonight in the suburbs and near 40 in the city.[more]

As high pressure builds over us and just east of us this Easter Sunday, plenty of sunshine prevails. However, it'll be a cooler day with upper 50s inland and upper 40s at the coast.[more]

It seems like winter's grip just can't completely let go of us this Spring, and just as in the last couple days, we have another cool one to deal with today. Onshore winds this time of year crush the hopes and dreams of any warm-up, and today is no exception as temps hold in low 40s at the coast. Inland, we'll near 50. At times enough low level moisture works in to drag in low clouds too, most prevalent closer to the coast.[more]

As that front pushed back north, winds went south, and low 50s turned to near 70 through many of the western suburbs. [more]

What a day! Temps neared 60 degrees thanks to a milder air mass, combined with the stronger March sunshine that we now get this time of year. As of this writing, Boston's high was 59 degrees. We hit 59 only once this winter, on January 11th. The last time we hit 60 or better? That was back on November 27th. However, in true March fashion, we have a wild up and down week ahead of us as we track a potent storm that runs across New England. [more]

A Taste Of Spring Before The Storm

    Monday, March 10 2014 5:16 PM EDT2014-03-10 21:16:25 GMT
After a fresh covering of snow this morning, we had no problems melting it away by this afternoon as partly sunny skies warmed us up into the lower 40s. Not only did we have a decent rebound today, but we'll enjoy a taste of Spring tomorrow with many towns reaching the lower to middle 50s. So what about that mid-week storm? We still have it in the forecast, and for most of eastern Mass, this turns into more of a rainmaker than snow. [more]

Well, it wasn't the 50s of yesterday, but the stronger March sun was able to warm us up into the upper 30s and lower 40s this afternoon, just shy of seasonal levels. As the cool Canadian air mass settles in overnight, lows fall back into the 20s as clouds increase. With just enough moisture and instability in place a couple hours either side of sunrise tomorrow, I do expect scattered snow showers to develop, and a few towns pick up a coating to and inch of snow.[more]

A day after hitting 60 in Taunton, 55 in Boston, and breaking the streak of 11 days in a row below average, we're back to the colder weather with a bit of a breeze. It's not a bad day overall though as highs edge into the mid to upper 30s and we can keep some sunshine out there. Clouds do increase overnight, foreshadowing a few snow showers to come as the first chance for flakes arrives pre-dawn tomorrow.[more]

What a day! Quite a bit of sunshine was able to hold on through the afternoon and the mid to upper 40s were able to turn into the lower to middle 50s for some, including the city of Boston which hit 55! After the cold stretch we've had to start the month, I'd say this break was well needed and well deserved as many were able to break the cabin fever and enjoy a nice Saturday outside.[more]

It's another mild one today with highs near 50 degrees. The trade off this Sunday is more clouds for less wind, but overall, compared to what we've had this winter, we'll take it. The winter weather does return for this upcoming week though with the cold, and a couple chances for some flakes.[more]

Heavy fog enveloped the Commonwealth today, thanks to the warmer air pushing in over a cold snowpack. Besides reducing visibilities, winter fog has another role in the weather cycle: it gobbles snow.In some cases, fog can devour several inches in an overnight period.
